I don't have any pre-Australia pictures (maybe Matt does on his phone) so we start here after we arrived. Jessi picked us up at the airport to help with learning to drive on the left side of the road. Then we knocked on her door to surprise her kids since they didn't know we were coming. It was such a great surprise - Parker did at least a minute of jaw-drop through the screen door. Pierce had told him we were going to France and I guess he was convincing. It was so fun to get to see them again! Such fun friends - the kids had a blast spending time with them again.
Anyway, this is their back yard, how awesome is it that they have a pool? Since it's fall in Brisbane the pool is a little cooler, and the kids didn't actually swim a ton. But fun!
We went to a really cool international market and had lunch. They introduced us to poffertjes - little Dutch pancakes that they top with butter and ice cream. Needless to say, they were delicious. Matt got something a little healthier, and there were some great omelets too, but mmmmm, those poffertjes. There were all sorts of other interesting things too!

Then, since we weren't feeling too tired, we went to the Gold Coast and went to the beach! It was such a blessing that we never really had jetlag at all out there - the timing was great, we slept quite a bit on the plane, and our only symptom was getting really tired about 8:00pm for a couple of days - reasonable. Anyway, the Gold Coast is a beautiful paradise, at least the part of it that we saw.
The kids learned to boogie board and loved it.

Zoe has been growing - her swimming suit is too small! We left it with Oaklee - hopefully she can wear it a little longer. (Just so you don't think I was trying to have a tummy-showing suit on her.)
Oaklee was so fun at the beach. She just danced and dug little holes and entertained herself kind of staying out of the water. Zoe likes that too - they did a lot of digging holes and sitting in them.
I was surprised to learn that the Gold Coast is actually a big city. We went to a beach a little ways south and the view was beautiful.

The sun goes down kind of early down there, at 6:00pm, so we dried off and went home after dusk. It was just so beautiful - I love the ocean and this was a fabulous beach.
